Millyard Bike Paddle Run Triathlon
Part triathlon (no swimming!), part adventure race (no fire!), the Millyard BPR is a fun but challenging race that starts and ends in Nashua, New Hampshire’s historic Millyard, taking participants through downtown Nashua, beautiful neighboring Hollis, and the peaceful trails of Mine Falls Park. Individuals and teams will bike through Nashua, use their choice of human powered water transport (kayak, canoe or SUP) to navigate the Nashua River and run along the famed New Hampshire Heritage Trail. After the race, share some food and drinks with your fellow racers at one of the many great establishments along Main and Canal Streets!
Course Description
The boat. Yep – you choose your boat, but you have to bring it with you! Participants and teams will be sorted by classification, but remember the overall winner is on time only, so if you’re in it to win it, go with that sleek boat you’ve been tempted by all winter. On the exit, you can hand carry your boat to a secure resting place or leave it on the water and we’ll move it for you.
The run. This 3.7 mile off road course through the picturesque Mine Falls Park will take you along the river you just paddled and then back to the start/finish line. This is a small section of the New Hampshire Heritage Trail which runs 130 miles along the Merrimack River from Massachusetts to Canada!
Course Maps
All legs start and finish at the Millyard Technology Park (10 Technology Way, Nashua, NH).
Bike: There will be a parade start from Millyard to West Hollis/Riverside Drive. This is a nice 2.5 mile warm up. Please stick together – the goal is to get everyone safely to the timed start. Timed start is at Riverside Drive.
Course follows West Hollis (Route 111) to Depot Road (just after crossing Nashua River). Turn right on Depot and make the 3 mile climb into Hollis. Stay right around the farms at Hollis Center and start down Broad Street. Take a LEFT onto Pine Hill Road (will be police assistance at turn). Take Pine Hill all the way across the Everitt Turnpike, where it becomes Blue Hill Avenue (um, not the Blue Hill Ave in Boston.) Here you will cross Broad Street, turn left, and then take the next right onto the Broad Street Parkway back to the Millyard. Note: the turn into the Millyard is tight – be sensible! Follow to back of the Millyard Technology Park where you can rack your bike and head to the kayak.
Total distance: 17 miles. Timed distance: 14.5 miles.
IMPORTANT: These roads are open to regular traffic. We will have police details and volunteers at what we deem to be critical intersections (Broad to Pine Hill, crossing Broad Street). However, absent express direction from an officer you are expected to comply with all traffic rules.
