Sr. Process Engineer, Manufacturing

Crane Currency is looking to fill a Sr. Manufacturing Process Engineer job for the Nashua, NH location.

Take your career to the next level! Improve the quality, reliability, manufacturability and cost of products across the Nashua facility. Lead projects and lean initiatives focusing on yield maximization and cost reduction through development of production processes. Provide engineering support, working closely with R&D, Operations, Quality, and Process Excellence.

The Process Engineer in Manufacturing is responsible for

  • Developing process functionality improvements and launch new products
  • Oversee project execution to drive continuous improvement
  • Develop process standards, including statistical process control opportunities
  • Improve product quality by reducing variability & increasing yields
  • Improve manufacturing methods
  • Resolve quality issues, identify trends and take corrective action
  • Document scope of work and results of improvement
  • Provide instructions to make product
  • Reduce product waste, improve utilization of capital equipment, cost of quality & optimize productivity
  • Work with operations, engineering, QA, maintenance, suppliers and management to problem solve and anticipate changes in customer requirements
  • Provide equipment design, including project justifications
  • Participate in Kaizen & JDI events


  • BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree or similar discipline
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years experience in Process Engineering or similar function in printing (preferred), coating or web processing
  • Proficient with data analysis, statistics and applied mathematics
  • Demonstrated experience leading or working on critical, high-visibility projects
  • Project management skills and success in managing self-directed projects, as well as Involvement in demanding interdisciplinary project roles, including project leader
  • Experience with graphics art software & translate print quality from specs to production highly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Minitab statistical software, Process Mapping and Capability Analysis a must, proficiency a plus
  • Experience with Six-Sigma, Lean Concepts and 5S preferred
  • Ability to influence and lead others
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex processes to cross-functional teams
