Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help individuals navigate emotional challenges, manage mental health conditions, and improve their overall well-being through evidence-based therapies and personalized support. Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to determine client needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
• Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
• Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during urgent situations.
• Provide specialized counseling for issues including addiction, grief, PTSD care, gender issues, chronic pain management, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, geriatrics, and pediatrics.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations while ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management efforts and optimize patient care outcomes.
• Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote counseling services effectively while adhering to clinical best practices.
• Engage in ongoing clinical research and data collection to enhance treatment approaches and contribute to the advancement of behavioral health practices.

Experience:

• Proven experience in clinical mental health counseling within outpatient or inpatient settings.
• Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychopharmacology collaboration.
• Experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), geriatrics, or special education populations is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation.
• Prior telehealth experience is preferred for delivering remote patient care effectively.
• Strong background in crisis management, behavior management, social work principles, and case management strategies.
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health and mental health conditions is essential for accurate documentation and communication.
