Southern New Hampshire Health Announces Launch of Legacy Trust to Support Patient Care

Southern New Hampshire Health (SNHH) is pleased to announce the establishment of a charitable foundation to support programs, services, and initiatives across its health system. The establishment of Legacy Trust is a new chapter for SNHH, which is comprised of Southern New Hampshire Medical Center and Foundation Medical Partners, a multi-specialty physician group. The launch of Legacy Trust is timed with National Philanthropy Day—an annual recognition of the important contributions of philanthropy and its dedicated staff members.
SNHH is focused on strengthening and enhancing inpatient and outpatient care throughout the greater Nashua community. Philanthropic support through Legacy Trust will enable SNHH to further develop these vital community assets and resources for years to come.

“Through the support and generosity of individuals and businesses in our communities, Legacy Trust will help to ensure that Southern New Hampshire Health best meets the needs of all people who come to us for care now and into the future,” said Randy Smith, Chair of the Board for Legacy Trust. “Legacy Trust provides an easy way for donors and advocates of health care to directly impact the services that are provided to people who need it the most, whenever it is needed.” The new charitable foundation is led by a community board. Philanthropy programming includes annual and corporate giving, signature event fundraising, planned giving, and capital fundraising campaigns. Giving to Legacy Trust will support patient care in response to the greatest needs, as well as emerging needs, by investing in training and state-of-the-art equipment to ensure our dedicated clinical staff is prepared to handle new health threats that surface. Giving will also support specialized care to enable patients struggling with disease to benefit from the latest in innovative approaches, pilot programs, and equipment.

Each year, SNHH makes a significant impact on communities through the ongoing care it provides. Just a few examples include*:

• 1,241 babies delivered by SNHH providers
• 32,701 emergency department visits
• 382,504 primary care and specialty care visits
• 776,084 outpatient lab tests

“I have seen the many ways that Southern New Hampshire Health changes lives of individuals and their families for the better. Giving to Legacy Trust is giving the gift of wellbeing to people around you,” said Fran Bell, donor, volunteer, and former SNHH ICU Nurse, and Legacy Trust Board Member. “It’s my hope that many more people will join me in supporting access to excellent health care from Southern New Hampshire Health for all people in our communities.”
